Boarding
Choose to board for a night or a year. Whatever you choose, we have a variety of options that guarantee your horse a clean and safe setting. Boarding is available with or without facility use.
Horse Motel
For those traveling or staying in Jackson Hole and Star Valley, make arrangements to leave your horse at Hawk’s Rest Ranch while you enjoy the area. Your horse will be taken care of as if they were at home. We have stalls or paddocks available.
Training
Whether you are starting a new horse or trying to break bad habits, or even if you just need to brush up on skills, we can help with any stage of training. We offer programs for both horse and rider that will build confidence, gain respect and help develop a special relationship between you and your horse.
Transportation
If you don’t have the time or the equipment to move your horse, we offer full horse transportation, whether it is across the country or across the street. In the event of an emergency, we are fully equipped to transport to Idaho, Utah, or Colorado for further treatment. Moving? We have you covered. We will transport your horse to your new property.
Boarding Options
Private Stall / Walkout Paddock
We offer 12x12 insulated stalls, complete with Varnan automatic horse waterer, inside sliding stall entry, and dutch door access to 24x32, or 12x32 outside paddocks. This option is perfect for the horse who deserves the very best. All stall boarding includes hay, grain, trace mineral salt block and bedding.
Private Paddock/Field
Each paddock is approximately one quarter acre. Each field varies in size up to three acres and includes a Varnan automatic horse waterer and trace mineral salt block. Boarding includes hay and feeding. All fencing is post and rail except for the perimeter fence, which is post, top rail and 4” horse wire.
General Herd
The “general herd” concept is a little different at Hawk’s Rest Ranch than you might find elsewhere. We place horses in with groups they “fit” with, such as, a horse who is less dominant would be placed into a calm group. Or, an easy keeper would go in with other horses who need a little less to stay fit. Whatever the need, we can accommodate the situation. Mares are welcome and will likely have their own group. Each horse is an individual and we will place according to needs and temperament.
Foaling Mares
Pregnant mares are welcome at any time during their term. We provide two stalls as the time draws near so that one is clean at all times. Each foaling stall is equipped with a 24-hour surveillance camera and is bedded with the best straw available. As the mare begins to foal, you can rest assured that you will be contacted and welcome to be here at any time. Our vets are on call 24 hours a day and are called to check the foal and the mother to aid in any difficulty. You can be assured that your mare and foal will receive on the best of care.
